Having graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1997, most of his postgraduate obstetrics and gynaecology training was at the Northwest London Deanery. Following this he undertook higher specialist training at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford in urogynaecology; advanced training in laparoscopic “keyhole” pelvic floor reconstructive surgery and laparoscopic benign gynaecological surgery.
