Specialist knee surgeon who regularly performs arthroscopic meniscal repair, menisectomy, day case ACL reconstruction, PCL reconstruction and less frequently multiple knee ligament reconstructions. Has a busy arthroplasty practice and regularly undertakes unicompartmental fixed or mobile bearing knee replacements, total knee replacements, patellofemoral joint replacements and revision total knee replacement. Performs a variety of procedures for patella stabilisation including hamstring tendon MPL reconstruction.
Trained at University College London Medical School and worked in London and Bristol as a junior doctor before taking a position on the Bristol Orthopaedic Registrar training scheme. Then undertook a specialist knee fellowship in Sydney, Australia with Dr Pinczweski, an internationally renowned knee surgeon. He has had published research comparing fixed and mobile bearing unicompartmental knee replacements. Mr Gleeson has also been involved in research on the long-term follow up of modern ACL reconstruction and assessment of a new bearing surface for total knee replacements.
