Treatments at Winfield Hospital

Back School

The Back School programme offers a series of 3 lecture-based classes covering anatomy of the spine, the effects of posture on the spine, the role of core muscles in spinal stability and ergonomics in the work environment and at home. Land based exercises are run in conjunction with the classes.

In addition, each participant has a course of 3 hydrotherapy (exercises in a pool) sessions.

All components of the care are taken by a Chartered Physiotherapist and each individual is assessed prior to placement on the programme.

Reflextherapy

Reflextherapy provides a holistic approach to relieve symptoms associated with many conditions, eg low back pain, arthritis, soft tissue injuries, headaches, etc. The treatment is based on the principle that the body is reflected in miniature in the feet, and gentle pressure applied to these reflex areas can help treat imbalances, and restore harmony within the body. Assessment is carried out by our Chartered Physiotherapist who is registered as a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Reflextherapy.

Treatment can be carried out on its own or combined with other clinical modalities streamlined to your individual needs.
